Fire Suppression System & Very Early Smoke Detection System (Vesda)
A clean agent is used to protect sensitive critical equipment e.g. IT Equipment, Electronic Equipment or Hazardous Power Equipment. It dose not contribute harmful effect to both Equipment, Human or Environment.
There are few fire suppression system offered; these option as:
1) Inert Gas Fire Suppression System
Inert gas is a gaseous clean fire suppressant comprised of nitrogen and argon, which are naturally occurring gas. As inert gas is derived from a gas present in the atmosphere, it exhibits no ozone depleting potential, does not contribute to global warming, nor does it contribute unique chemical species with extended atmospheric lifetimes. Because Inertec (Inert gas) is totally composed of an atmospheric gas, it does not pose the problems of toxicity associated with the chemically derived Halon alternatives. By using Inertec (Inert gas) Fire Suppression System.
Inert gases are the best choice for extinguishing agents as they extinguish fires by oxygen depletion by lowering the normal oxygen concentration in the air from 21% to about 12%, below the limit required for combustion whilst still providing a safe and breathable atmosphere.
The composition of a naturally occurring gas of Inertec (Inert gas) is a preferred choice as it provides users with all the advantages of an internatio 1nally accredited and environmentally friendly protection solution without the high costs of traditional implementation of equivalents.
2) FM 200
Known as the world most widely accepted replacement for Halon 1301, HFC-227ea is considered as people-friendly and takes up less floor space than other system s. The U.S Environmental Protection Agency named it a non-ozone depleting agent for fire extinguishing system installed in occupied places.
FM200 colourless, odourless and in gaseous form, FM200 extinguishes without leaving any residue. With speedy distribution throughout the room, FM 200 is not erosive and electrically condutive thus causes no damage through short circuits. The function of FM 200 to depriove the heat and interrupt the combustion reaction.
A Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) is also recommended to couple with the Fire Suppression System. This is a fire detection system that offers the earliest possible warning of a potential fire hazard.
VESDA’s high quality detection work is done by continuously drawing air into the pipe network by an extremely efficient aspirator. The air sample is then passed through a dual stage filter, where it is analysed by the laser detection chamber.
This system is at least 30 times more sensitive than conventional ionization smoke detectors.
ix. Clean Agent Supply System
The extinguishing agent shall be Inertec55 with physical properties conforming to NFPA Standard 2001.
The agent supply system shall be of the cylinder modular system type with the containers floor mounted in the room to be protected. Each zone to be protected by the Total Flooding System shall be capable of being flooded independently of the other.
