Married couples in Malaysia who mutually agree to part ways amicably and can reach an agreement on child custody, alimony, and marital asset division, can proceed with a mutual consent divorce by filing a Joint Petition to the court.

To begin the divorce process in Malaysia, the following documents are needed:

  1. Applicant's IC/ passport

  2. Marriage certificate

  3. The child’s birth certificate

  4. A deposit for legal fees

In divorce cases involving asset distribution in Malaysia, additional specific documents are required:

  1. For properties: The Sale and Purchase Agreement or the property’s title deed

  2. For vehicles: The vehicle registration card from JPJ

  3. Or other proofs of assets

If any required documents are missing, assistance can be obtained from Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN), Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalan (JPJ), or from lawyers.

We understand that navigating through a divorce can be challenging and emotionally taxing. With our expertise in family law and our commitment to personalized care, we are dedicated to guiding you through this process with the utmost respect and professionalism.
