The company began its journey in 1974 and was formally known as “Federal Power & Telecoms Sdn Bhd.” , a pioneer in the local Power Industry.
Started as a joint venture between Lembaga Letrik Negara (now Tenaga Nasional Bhd), Federal Cables, Wires and Metal Manufacturing Bhd (now FCW Industries Sdn Bhd) and Fujikura Ltd of Japan, the company later became a subsidiary to a local reputable investment group, Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) in 1983.
In 1992, the company changed its name to current Federal Power Sdn Bhd.
Federal Power Sdn. Bhd. to become a leading Ministry of Finance (MoF)’s licensed BUMIPUTERA manufacturer of Power Cables & Wires in Malaysia with impressive growth in sales, product mix and manufacturing facilities.
